I left Lane in 1952 to go to work as
I felt at that time that making money was more important than education. I
later went to Jamaica Evening High School to get my diploma. In 1956 I
started in the fastener industry as a truck driver and worked my way
through shipping, receiving, inspection, purchasing and eventually wound
up in sales and became General Manager. I worked at various companies as
GM and in 1983 started my own. I am very proud that in 1989 and again in
1992 we received SBA awards as we were nominated for Small Business
Sub-contractor of the year. During Desert Storm we had screws on the
Patriot Missile. In 2001 I sold out and am staying on as a sales rep to
keep busy and keep the continuity with the customers.

In 1958 I got married and we are still together, the
proud parents of a daughter who in 2001 after 13 years of marriage and two
children became a CPA, passing her exam on the first try. My son-in-law is
a licensed plumber in Suffolk County and they have a nice house in
Smithtown with my two grandchildren, a girl now 10 who takes piano
lessons, and does Irish step-dancing and a boy who is 8 and loves science
and baseball.
