After graduation I enlisted in the U. S. Marines on 10 March 1953.
I served thirty years, 6 months retiring as a Captain on 1 September
1982.
I am married to my wonderful wife Carol for forty
three years. We met while I was on the Drill Field at Parris
Island, SC. She was also a Marine and stationed there. We
have 3 children, Chris 42, Diane 41, and Eric 39. We have seven
grandchildren, the oldest will graduate from high school in June 2003.
Chris is a District Court Judge in Monroe, NC and he is running for
Superior Court Judge on Nov. 5th. Diane is married to a Marine Major and
they are stationed at Twenty-nine Palms, CA and they love the high
desert. Eric is in Howell, MI and is a computer programmer working for
SAS Institute.
Since my retirement from the Marines I have been
working as an electrician and although its hard at times I enjoy the
work and don't see myself retiring anytime soon.
