Ann McGeoy
After graduating from Franklin K. Lane in January
1953, I was employed by Bank of the Manhattan Co. as a bookkeeper and
later as a bank teller in Ozone Park for six and a half years.
During that time, in July 1958, I married Thomas Carmody and settled in
Deer Park, L.I. In 1961, a son, Brian, was born and in 1965, a
daughter, Colleen, joined the family. Tom and I had a typical
suburban life - I as a stay at home Mom and Tom as an electronics
engineer, doing work for the U.S. Navy.
In 1972 we
bought a summer home at Oak Beach, Long Island, where we took up year
round residence in 1983 when our daughter graduated from High School. The
children are married and have given me six grandsons. I have been a
quilter and have attempted some oil paintings.
After forty-one years of marriage, Tom and I separated
two years ago. I now live in Calverton, L.I. during the summer and Palm
Beach, FL, during the winter.
